About the Author

Penny Gardner grew up in Chelsea, Vermont. She earned a double major in Elementary Education and Music Education at a state college in VT in 1979. Penny has decades of teaching experience in public, charter, and home school settings. Penny is mother of six and grandmother to ten. She is a fellow of the Central Utah Writing Project and teaches Nature Journaling to elementary-aged students in a summer writing camp at a major university.

Penny is a member of Salt Lake Recorder Society and Beyond Baroque Trio. She plays recorders, from garklein to bass, and viola da gamba.
