The interactive, award-winning rhythm lessons in this site contain the rhythms of the songs in the Nine-Note Recorder series.
Lessons 1
through 4 cover everything you need for The NEW Niine-Note Recorder Method. (If you have the 1st edition, you will need
lesson 5
on syncopation.) Some of the songs in Easy Duets for Christians and Easy Duets for Latter-day Saints
contain syncopation and 16th notes so you will need to understand Lessons 5
through 8 where you will learn the rhythms for the harder songs in these volumes. Each lesson shows a new rhythm and explains it. There is a sound
file so you can hear the rhythm and clap along with it. Do this a couple of times until you feel you understand the rhythm presented. Then follow the link in each lesson to a duet that uses that rhythm.
Click on the note icon to hear the sound file of the duet. By looking at the music while hearing it, you will understand the rhythms better. Slap your leg and count as you listen and follow along. Listen again
and play along if you wish. Take each lesson in turn. Spend enough time to really understand the rhythm lesson before proceeding to the next one. Play songs that use each rhythm. These rhythm lessons
are helpful to anyone learning to read music, regardless of instrument choice. These lessons should help you succeed with music. |
